Silver linings (2025)

measurement: 287cm x 213cm x 33cm

materials: felt, silver leaf

technique: one single length of fabric, hand cut with hot blade and folded into itself

A blank slate, to be truly aligned.

With a blazing hot knife I cut through what had me frozen in time.

Transformed into confusion, movement with the anxiety of impermanence.

One place staying here, the next moving in there.

Reconfiguring while reconstructing.

The flux of safety and vulnerability redefining who I am and the space I occupy

Leading with movements of deconstruction, and repositioning attachments.

My slate - the new foundation

Turmoil of the unknown hosted by silver linings and infinite possibilities.

Decisive forward motion avoids the deep burn of a static hot blade

Fear melts away while the knife eases through the surface,

now it is irreparable and the process of recreation floods in.

The stillness of the blank slate now transformed by the speed of sharp upheaval.

Movement and form embrace fractured spaces

Silver linings lead me through a new slate grey area

where my beliefs capture the light to show me what my faith can only see.
